Two weeks ago my Dad walked out. He hasn’t returned. He has not contacted anyone.
There are no signs of foul play. There are no signs of anything. No bank card activity for 11 days. His phone goes to voicemail after 2 rings. He has not called his mother. He quit his leadership position at church.
He had RNY bariatric surgery in August. He hasn’t been to his group meetings, he hasn’t been sticking to his diet. Emotional distress is common after this procedure. It’s a life-altering change that everyone around you has to adjust to along with you.
My mom is a wreck. I’m sure she is blaming herself. My brother, sister and I are at once anxious, bothered, flustered, restless, uneasy and upset. My grandmother is beside herself.
He has been listed as a missing person. We have contacted as many of his friends as we can. Now there is nothing more to do but wait.

Just wanted to let you know that I was thinking of you and your family. My youngest brother lives in Austria and was out of communication with all of us here in the US for several weeks last year and it was extremely difficult. He and his girlfriend were going through a personal tragedy and he needed to work stuff out on his own time. For us as people who care so much for him, it was so frustrating to sense something was terribly wrong but not be able to track him down and see him with our own eyes and connect and support him in such a difficult time. My heart goes out to you.
I am so sorry. That is just terrifying. I hope this clears up well.
